Frenchay Hospital Morgue – Bristol

This Morgue is part of the main hospital. Click Here for pictures. I decided to give the morgue its own page. This place was incredible. Once we were inside you are faced with a corridor. At the end of the corridor is a door, on the door it reads “Post Mortem Room” we slowly opened this door and was amazed at the immaculate aluminium slabs we found and then in one of the back rooms we found the original slab. All with running water and electric. Around the back was the body fridges. Still on and working! bloody freezing they were!

We went to another room and found loads of records and samples from the decease.  There were boxes of pacemakers with there original owners name on and various other things. In the last room we entered, we was faced with these bright yellow boxes with red lids. On the top it read: Anatomical waste. We were thinking, surely there isn’t anything inside? All the boxes were sealed apart from one, we opened the box and found various training aids.
